The Fountain Division of W. P. Law, Inc. will be the General Contractor on very special project at the Gaillard Center in Charleston SC. WPL was invited to be on the design team put together by the AABM Committee to help design a memorial to commemorate the site of the reinternment of thirty-six (36) enslaved Africans/African Americans. The memorial garden features a fountain bowl, which represents the earthen burial soil, and bronze hand sculptures (by artist Stephen Hayes) to represent each enslaved individual. The Anson African Burial Memorial is set to open at the end of the year (2025).
